Frequently Asked Questions

Hey I'm Aleigh! Owner of Movin & Groomin and the face you will see showing up to groom your pup. As we launched the mobile business my team has been flooded with questions, and I love it! The more clarity & comfort I can give you the better. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions I hear on a daily basis. After reading through if you find that you are still unclear about absolutely anything, or you have general feedback, send me an email and I will happily respond.

Payment & Loyalty Programs

How do you accept payment?

After each groom you can pay with cash or card on my wireless Square terminal. With the wireless terminal it is natural that the payment will not be processed until the terminal is back in an area with service.

What types of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, debit and any major credit card. I shy away from e-transfers.

Do you offer grooming discounts or loyalty programs?

We do offer a loyalty stamp card, your 10th groom will be 25%. There will be a loyalty program offered within the few months
after the business is launched. You can be informed in person at your groom, through email or by checking our social media, 
whichever you prefer.

Rates & Services

Why is  there a price range for each grooming service?

Grooming prices are based off the size of your dog, the length of the groom and the grooming frequency.

How do you determine fuel costs & charges?

Fuel charges are based off of your place of residence in relationship to the Town of Perth (my home base). I schedule you in with other grooming requests in the area to keep costs as low as possible, to keep your fuel charge as low as possible.

Travel & Availability

What are your grooming hours?

My grooming hours are 9am until 4pm, Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility with hours of operation. In some situations Saturday mornings or later weekday evening grooming times may be available. Any groom request outside of operational hours must be approved by Aleigh.

How far do you travel?

I travel 45 kilometres away from Perth in any direction. This includes Perth (obviously), Smiths Falls, Rideau Ferry, Westport, Carleton Place, Almonte and Lanark. There is flexibility when you would like to request a groom outside of the radius (50 kilometres to 60 kilometres) but it will have to be approved by Aleigh.

Do you travel to all appointments or do you have a place for us to come to you?

If requested, you can choose a location in Perth for us to meet if it is easier for you to make the trip to  me.

Grooming & The Van

Do I need to be there for the groom?

Yes, you will need to be there before the groom and after the groom. There will only be a few instances when the owner is approved by the groomer not to be there. 

Do you need anything from the dog owners to complete the groom?

The only few things needed to complete the groom is:

  • A brief conversation about the groom.

  • The dog, prepared and ready.

  • The grooming form and release form completed.

  • The dog removed from the van after the groom.

  • Payment for groom & the rebooking of your next appointment.

What is the van equipped with?

The van is fully powered, it is climate controlled with running water and is equipped with an experienced groomer.
